So, I wrote a program, out of some necessity for speed to allow the rough facing of the side of a bar of round stock. Often times people will use a standard facing cycle to mill the side of a big bar of round stock but there’s a ton of wasted time and air cuts. I had some fun with it, made the theme silly.
Check it out HERE. Yeah the theme is stupid, the name is dumb, so what.
So, it is based on XYZ 0 being the top and center but you can translate the coordinated around on X and Y and to be rotated. I left Z0 to be just a label because which way should Z change things? Should it be the top of the arc? The start of the cut? Doesn’t matter.
It also allows for the export of a 3D dxf for path verification
And also shows where the cuts are going to take place along the stock.
Well, if anyone sees this and tries to use it, enjoy the comic sans… HERE
